In Short
The Camplux 5L portable tankless water heater offers a straightforward, propane-powered solution for instant hot water in camping, RV, or off-grid settings. It prioritizes portability and low-pressure compatibility, making it a reliable choice for remote showers.
Our Review
Designed specifically for outdoor enthusiasts, the Camplux 5L is a compact, propane-fueled water heater that excels in environments without standard utility hookups. Weighing roughly 10 pounds and featuring a convenient folding handle, it is built to be packed into a vehicle or mounted at a campsite without adding significant bulk. Its tankless design means you are not waiting on a reservoir to heat up, providing an immediate hot water stream suitable for showers or cleaning tasks.
Because this unit relies on 2 D-cell batteries for ignition and requires only 3.0 PSI of water pressure to start, it is highly versatile for locations where electricity is unavailable. It functions well with basic gravity water bags or small 12V pumps, which makes it particularly useful for rural cabins or remote camping spots. However, potential buyers should ensure they are comfortable managing propane gas canisters safely, as this unit is strictly for outdoor use.
Standout Features
The standout capability of this unit is its low-pressure ignition system, allowing it to function effectively with basic water sources like gravity bags. Safety is also a core focus, as the device is CSA-certified and includes automatic features like overheat protection and anti-flame sensors.
What We Like
We appreciate the inclusion of almost everything you need to get started, including the shower head, gas regulator, and hoses. The ease of setup, which the manufacturer claims can be done in about 10 minutes, is a major plus for those who prefer spending less time assembling gear and more time enjoying the outdoors.
