In Short

The DNP DS620A is a professional dye-sublimation printer built for speed, efficiency, and versatility. With support for multiple print sizes and high-capacity rolls, it is a robust solution for high-volume environments like photo booths or professional studios.

Our Review

The DNP DS620A is clearly designed for environments that demand quick turnaround times without sacrificing output quality. Its primary appeal lies in its impressive print speed, capable of producing a standard 4x6 inch print in just 8.3 seconds. This makes it an ideal companion for high-volume settings, such as events or busy retail photography desks, where throughput is just as important as image clarity.

While the printer is built to be a reliable workhorse, its size is something to consider for smaller workspaces. At over 26 pounds, this is not a portable device you will want to move around frequently, though its footprint is efficient for a professional machine. Before buying, verify your setup can accommodate a dedicated, somewhat heavy unit, and ensure your computer environment matches the required operating systems for the driver software.

Standout Features

This printer stands out for its flexibility in output, allowing for both glossy and matte finishes from the same media. It supports a variety of print formats ranging from 2x6 inch photo booth strips up to 6x8 inch enlargements. The inclusion of a highly efficient standby mode, which consumes less than 0.5W of power, also reflects a thoughtful design focused on reducing operating costs and energy waste.

What We Like

We appreciate the advanced status monitoring provided through the driver software. Being able to easily track remaining media, printer life counters, and firmware versions without guesswork is a significant advantage for professionals who need to avoid downtime during critical jobs.
